The Citizen offers 'Steve' advice in its latest radio campaign

Published: 21 June 2012

Published six days a week, The Citizen has launched a radio campaign which effectively offers career, motoring and entertainment advice to ‘Steve’, the guy everybody loves to hate.

“Steve has become a generic household character, he is an icon of the ‘workplace down-trodden’,” says The Citizen’s publisher Greg Stewart. “So the concept of getting Steve some help was born. The idea was to promote our product and various supplements which continue to be a source of assistance for many job seekers around the country and of entertainment to our loyal readers.”

The radio ads, which will run on Highveld Stereo, Radio 702, Jacaranda and Ofm, play on the premise that Steve’s job is at risk since he’s had such little success in converting potential customers to his portfolio and therefore may need a new job soon or would enjoy catching up on the Sports pages with all his free time at work.

The Citizen is a trusted information and entertainment source and the radio campaign is a fun way of emphasising our great job listings, CitiMotoring, CitiVibe and CitiSport sections,” says Stewart.
