Spar's 'win a car' promotion breaks all previous records

The Spar 'win a car' campaign for 2012 has broken all previous entry records according to local advertising network Shinka, who hosted the advertising on MXit using The Bandit, Splash Adverts, Tradepost and Portal messages.

They have confirmed that entries reached 1 337 916, topping last year’s results by almost 400 000. The campaign ran from 20 April to 4 June and was hosted on the free Spar portal, and open to all South African citizens over the age of 18.

The winner, Vutomi Chauke from Limpopo, drove away the lucky winner of a 2012 VW Polo Vivo.

The campaign elements consisted of four Broadcast messages, two Bandit Portal messages, three 20something portal messages as well as 60 000 splashes over three days, resulting in the final entry amount of 1 337 916.
